About the product

Karakoram Ultra Ranger Split

Light on the climb, damp and responsive on the descent. The Karakoram Ultra Ranger Split is built for riders who want that snowboard feel well beyond the lifts. It combines low weight, comfort and direct power transfer in a versatile binding for long tours and full days riding the resort.

The lightweight Carbon Nyolite chassis keeps weight down, while EVA footbeds and elastomeric ESP pads absorb vibrations to keep your feet comfortable throughout the day. The result is a smoother feel when the snow gets tracked out, with the response you need when it’s time to push.

Karakoram’s Active Joining locks the binding to the board, removing play from the connection. That means immediate response and precise edge control, whether you’re driving through a turn, lining up a windlip or holding your line through rough snow.

  • Carbon Nyolite chassis: Low weight for both climbing and riding.

  • EVA footbeds: Lightweight comfort for long days on the mountain.

  • ESP damping pads: Absorb vibrations while maintaining direct power transfer.

  • Active Joining: A play-free binding-to-board connection for immediate response and edge control.

  • Included: Bindings and Interface Kit with Ride Mode 3.0, Tour Mode and DualSpeed Riser with Heel-Lock.

  • For solid snowboards: Add Quiver-Connectors, sold separately.

Technology

Binding technology

  • Carbon Nyolite highback with X logo, close-up.

    Carbon Nyolite Highback

The shape of Karakoram’s Reactive Highback in lighter, slightly stiffer Carbon Nyolite. Flex 7/10 on Karakoram’s scale.

  • Damping pad under the binding’s baseplate, close-up.

    ESP Pads

Elastomer pads damp vibration from hard, uneven snow while keeping the binding responsive.

  • Anodised aluminium screw on the binding, close-up.

    Al Hardware

Screws in anodised 7075-T6 aluminium to save weight.

  • Buckles and straps on a snowboard binding, close-up.

    Carbon Buckles

Buckles made from recycled carbon fibre that would otherwise go to landfill. Light and durable.

  • Carbon Nyolite chassis with asymmetric sidewalls, close-up.

    Asymmetric Chassis

A Carbon Nyolite chassis with a higher outside sidewall for edge power when touring and a lower inside wall for freedom of movement in the turn.

  • EVA footbed on the Ultra Ranger.

    EVA Footbed

Karakoram’s lightest footbed, made for the Ultra Ranger, for comfort on long touring days.

Downhill – Ride Mode

  • Active Joining

The binding slides on loosely, and closing the lever locks it to the board with no play, for a direct connection when you set an edge.

  • Ride Mode 3.0 interfaces mounted on the splitboard halves.

    Ride Mode 3.0

The ride-mode interfaces are composite, with material only where it is needed for strength at low weight.

Uphill – Tour Mode

  • Tour Mode

The touring bracket pivots on a fixed through axle for a stable, smooth stride. Snow clears as you step in, and the bracket releases quickly at transitions.

  • DualSpeed Riser

Climbing risers in two heights, flipped up and down with your pole basket.

  • Heel-Lock

Lock your heel to the board on the way up without stepping out. The lock folds away when not needed.
