About the product

In short

The Frontier 2.0 Splitboard is Jones’ forgiving splitboard for the backcountry. The shape is directional, with a long nose and setback, and the flex is mid-soft, 5 out of 10, so it is supple and easy to turn. It floats in soft snow without becoming difficult to handle on firmer snow.

How it feels

A long nose and setback let it float in soft snow, and the mid-soft flex makes the board playful and supple, easy to turn in tight spots. Camber underfoot gives edge hold and confidence at speed. Low Traction Tech gives three equal grip points per steel edge, enough for icy mornings without feeling catchy. A 5 mm taper and 2 cm of setback make it directional, but not so much that it becomes one-way. It works on your first tour in your home range and when you go further out.

For those who want to know more

Freeride CamRock gives camber underfoot and rocker in the nose and tail, so it floats in soft snow without becoming difficult to handle on firmer snow. The base has a Medium 3D Contour Base with 4 mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0 to 4 mm in the tail, which reduces edge drag and gives smoother turns. Forever Flex is broken in at the factory, so the flex is more even from day one and holds up over time. The split is held together by Karakoram Ultra Clips 1.0, adjustable so you can keep even compression as the board ages, and Karakoram Tip Clips. The core is Control Split Core in paulownia and poplar at a 2:1 ratio, and the laminate is biaxial fibreglass with bio epoxy.
